PRENATAL VISITS

Informative and Compassionate

During your pregnancy we will meet at least twice to discuss your ideal birth experience. As your doula I will provide emotional support, physical comfort measures, and help you obtain information on your choices for labor and birth, and give nonjudgmental support of your decisions. At our last visit before the big day we will practice positions for labor, pushing positions, address any fears you may have about birth, and anything else you might need to feel fully prepared to meet your sweet baby.

BUILD A BIRTH PLAN

Offering Support & Guidance

During the last trimester of your pregnancy I will assist you and your partner on building a birth plan. What is a birth plan? This is a summarized guide of all the choices you have made for your labor, birth, and newborn. Your provider and the nurses will receive a copy before and during your labor, so they can get an idea of what your goals are. Often times when labor arrives mothers are so focused on concentrating through contractions that thinking of anything else seems nearly impossible! That's where I come in. During labor I will remind you of your birth plan and your goals to ensure you have the birth you've been planning for!

LABOR & BIRTH SUPPORT

With You All The Way

When the big day arrives I will be with you throughout the entire labor and birth. I'll be there to give you reassurance, support, and love to take care of you emotionally. I will also provide physical comfort measures like massage, hydrotherapy, visualization techniques and more to help you cope with contractions and encourage baby into an optimal position for birth. Birth is beautiful, but it can also be a little scary. Having an experienced doula by your side you'll feel confident and calm as you welcome your baby into the world.

POSTPARTUM SUPPORT

Here for You

After baby arrives I will stay with you for as long as you need. Most families are ready for quiet alone time a few hours after the birth. I can assist you with initiating breastfeeding (if that is your preferred feeding choice), including the baby-led latch. Once your new family returns home I will visit you at least twice following the birth. During these visits we will talk about your birth, if you're ready, and I can answer any questions you may have about your labor and baby's birth. I will also provide breastfeeding support, sleep techniques, newborn care, and tips on how to have a peaceful, comfortable postpartum experience.
